CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacrall Therapy (CST) is a light touch manual approach that enhances the body's natural healing capabilities. The practitioner essentially helps the body release restrictions which it has been unable to overcome on its own that inhibit the body's normal, self-correcting tendencies. Rather than deciding how these changes should be made, the therapist follows cues from the client's body on how to proceed. The focus of CST is to uncover the source of the problem, and at the same time symptom relief is achieved. The length of time and number of sessions is extremely variable and depends on the complex layers of injury and trauma that may mask the original cause of the problem as well as the body's defense mechanisms. CST enhances the body's inherent process of healing and defending against possible disease.

The CranioSacral system plays a vital role in maintaining the environment in which the central nervous system functions. It is comprised of membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord as well as the attached bones, including the skull, face, and mouth, which make up the cranium, and the tailbone area or sacrum. Because the brain and spinal cord are contained within the central nervous system it is easy to see that the CrainoSacral system has powerful influence over a wide variety of bodily functions.

CrainoSacral Therapy is an effective treatment for a wide range of problems associated with pain and loss of functions. These problems may include chronic pain, sciatica, eye difficulties, Scollosis, back pain, lymphatic problems, motor coordination impairments, learning disabilities, allergies, headaches, migraines and more.

To become a Certified Upledger Institute CrainoSacral Therapist one must first successfully complete CrainoSacral I and II followed by Somato_Emotional Relese I certifications. Russian Medical Massage Influence on the Process Healing

Russian massage has an excellent effect on the function of the blood, vascular, and lymph vessels located under the skin. With increased amounts of blood flowing to the capillaries, the tissues receive more nourishment, thus aiding in their repair. The body's defenses can also be strengthened against bacteria, viruses, allergic reactions, and certain other ailments by the removal of toxins and chemical waste and by manual stimulation of the immune system.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphedema is a specific condition that responds to non-invasive therapy known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). Lymphadema is the accumulation of protein-rich fluid in the superficial tissues often caused by injury, scarring, excision and/or radiation therapy of the lymph nodes (for instance, post-mastectomy lymphedema due to breast cancer treatment). Edema may appear after simple accidents such as sports injuries, which may also respond to MLD. This therapeutic approach is also effective for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndromes. It often produces rapid results and had a calming effect on the patient.
